How to calculate UNILAG Aggregate Score for Admission after Post-UTME?

Parents and candidates seeking admission into UNILAG should note that candidate's performance in the O'level result, UTME and Post-UTME are pertinent to the Post-UTME Aggregate needed for admission consideration.

First, as an admission seeker into UNILAG, you need to note that, your O’level result will give you a maximum of 20 points. While your POST UTME Screening and UTME give you a maximum of 30 and 50 points respectively.

The O’level grades has been assign points as follows:

A1 = 4.0
B2 = 3.6
B3 = 3.2
C4 = 2.8
C5 = 2.4
C6 = 2.0

How To Calculate UNILAG Aggregate Score.

Calculate the grades of your FIVE compulsory O’level subjects using 2019/2020 UNILAG admission guidelines. For instance, Jide Emeka Adamu has the following grades in his O'level result English B2, General Mathematics A1, Biology B2, Chemistry C4, and Physics A1 his O'level grade points will be calculated thus;
3.6 + 4 + 3.6 + 2.8. + 4 = 18 points.

Assuming, Jide scored 270 in UTME. His UNILAG UTME point for admission will be: 270/8 = 33.75 points

During Post-UTME Screening Jide scored 22 points out of 30.

Therefore the available Post-UTME Aggregate points for admission consideration for Jide Emeka Adamu is calculated thus: O'level grade point + UTME grade point + Post-UTME point which is equal to 18 + 33.75 + 22 = 73.75%

After knowing his aggregate points what next? Jide needs to check the cut-off points for his course at the department. This varies per admission year. Let say the cut-off point for his course for the current year is 70%. it means Jide Emeka Adamu is qualified for admission and his name will be on the admission list for the same year.

NOTE:
1.  POST-UTME Aggregate is calculated as shown above.

2.  Post-UTME Score is over 30.

3.  Each department has its own cut-off points in percentage.

4.  No top-up magic or selling of Post-UTME results as usually rumoured.

5. The above is subject to review, as determinable by the UNILAG Academic board or Admission Committee. (You're advised to always consult the UNILAG portal for updates).
