Is the Death of the Raggae Artists Majek and Ras Kimono Related?

The reggae music lover across the globe are wandering why and sceptical about the death of Majek Fashek in the month of June relating it to the death of Ras Kimono who also died two years ago on 10 June 2018.

Ras Kimono was a Nigerian reggae artist whose debut album Under Pressure, led by the single "Rum-Bar Stylée", was a big hit in the Nigerian music scene in 1989. Before he released his solo album, he was in a group called The Jastix along with Amos McRoy and Majek Fashek.

The death of Majek Fashek was made known by his manager, Mr Omenka Uzoma on Tuesday, 2 June 2020.

Writing on Instagram, Mr Uzoma said it was "a time for us all to celebrate his achievements, and not mourn".

The musician, whose real name was Majekodunmi Fasheke, also worked with stars like Jimmy Cliff, Tracy Chapman and Snoop Dogg.

Majek Fashek had been ill for some time but the cause of his death is not clear, the manager said.

But the speculation among reggae music lovers is, " is there any connection with him and Ra's Kimono dying in June? Or it is just a coincidence.
