Rhodes University appointed a new deputy vice-chancellor and it is one for the history books.
The university, which is located in Makhanda, has appointed a successor for outgoing deputy vice-chancellor, Dr Chrissie Boughey, The Sowetan reported.

Dr Sizwe Mabizela, the university's vice-chancellor, said Monnapula-Mapesela is an outstanding and highly accomplished academic.
“We are deeply grateful and very proud to have her as a key member of the senior management team in her role. We look forward with anticipation to her contribution,” Mabizela said.
According to a social media post by her son, Bokang Mapesela, in 2018, the new deputy vice-chancellor obtained her post Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education with exceptional distinction.
"She obtained her Bachelors of Education and Masters Degrees with distinction," said Velisile Bukula, Rhodes University's Senior Communications Officer.

Prior to her appointment, Monnapula-Mapesela held the dean of academic development and support post at the Central University of Technology in the Free State for the past decade.
She was also the senior Director for the university's Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching.
While many people go for National Youth Service with the aim of having fun and nothing more, others, however, do their best to impact lives and create a positive change in their various places of assignment.
For this young man identified as Hafiz Ayodele who is currently serving in Baruten LGA chikanda community, Kwara state, education is the way he has chosen to help the children in the community of his primary place of assignment.
