CJN'S TRIAL: God Has Left Buhari's Govt Like The Biblical Saul – Fayose

Immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has described the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government as a sinking administration and that God has abandoned it like he did to the biblical Saul.

Saul, the first King of the biblical Israel was rejected by God over disobedience. An evil spirit later possessed him.

Fayose was reacting on the call by Buhari’s government on the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen, to quit over an alleged asset declaration offence.

The former governor, who accused the government of a sinister motive with the speed in handling the case involving the CJN, wondered why government did not swiftly arrest Orji Kalu who was declared wanted for jumping bail, but now going around campaigning for Buhari, as it did against the CJN.

He said on his Twitter handle:

“Those the gods wish to destroy, they 1st make mad. This sinking govt taking on CJN is desperation taken too far. From Amina Zakari to the illegal plot to extend the IGP tenure & now assault on the CJN, it is obvious that God has departed from this govt as He left the Biblical Saul.

“The speed with which the petition against the CJN was acted up clearly exposed the sinister intention of the Presidency. How is it explainable for a petition to be written on January 7, received by the CCB on January 9 and charges made against the CJN on January 11?

“Meanwhile, Orji Kalu who was declared wanted by the court for jumping bail is everywhere campaigning for the President and APC. Why didn’t the FG act swiftly in arresting Kalu like it acted on the petition against the CJN?”
